Torres signed Chelsea - record deal

Photo: Torres scored two goals when Liverpool met Chelsea at Anfield earlier this term. Chelsea have completed the signing of Liverpool striker Fernando Torres on a five-and-a-half year deal for a fee believed to be worth £50million. Torres has been joined at Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day by Portugal defender David Luiz, who has completed a £25million-plus transfer from Benfica. After finalising the deal Torres was quoted on Chelsea's official website as saying: "I hope I can score some important goals for the supporters to enjoy this season." Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck said: "This is a very significant day for Chelsea, capturing one of the best players in the world with his peak years ahead of him." Chelsea are now at odds of 7/1=8.00 decimal odds to win the Barclays Premier League 2010/11.
